Javier Ruiz-del-Solar @ Universidad de Chile

Javier Ruiz-del-Solar received his diploma in Electrical Engineering and the M.S. degree in Electronic Engineering from the Technical University Federico Santa Maria (Chile) in 1991 and 1992, respectively, and the Doctor-Engineer degree from the Technical University of Berlin in 1997. In 1998 he joined the Electrical Engineering Department of the University of as an Assistant Professor. In 2001 he became Director of the Electro-Technologies Laboratory and in 2005 Associate Professor. His research interests include Mobile Robotics, Computer Vision, Face Analysis, and the Application of Computational Intelligence Technologies to Pattern Recognition problems. Dr. Ruiz-del-Solar is recipient of the 2004 RoboCup Engineering Challenge Award and IEEE RAB Achievement Award 2003, and since 2006 he is senior member of the IEEE.
